1. Introduction

CadenceSkin ABN 71523849651("we", "us", "our") operates cadenceskin.com.au (the "Site").

We respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles ("APPs"). Where we collect information from people in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, section 13 also applies.

By using the Site or purchasing from us, you agree to this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

2. What personal information we collect

2.1 Information you give us:

Place an order - Name, email, billing address, shipping address, phone number, order contents
Create an account - Name, email, password (stored encrypted by our platform), order history
Pay - Payment method type, partial card details, transaction confirmation — we never see or store your full card number
Subscribe to our newsletter - Email address, name (optional), and your subscription preferences
Contact us - Name, email, and whatever you include in your message
Leave a review or comment - Name or display name, review content, any images you upload
Enter a giveaway or survey - Whatever that specific entry form asks for

2.2 Information we collect automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our third-party tools automatically collect:

IP address and approximate location (usually city or region level)
Device type, operating system, browser type and language
Pages viewed, time on page, links clicked, referring website
Products viewed and added to cart
Cookie and device identifiers

2.3 Sensitive information

We do not seek to collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act — including health information, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation.

Please note: if you tell us about a skin condition, allergy, sensitivity, pregnancy, or health concern in order to get a product recommendation, that is health information. We only use it to answer your question, we do not add it to your marketing profile, and we delete it from our correspondence records after [X months]. Please don't send us health details you'd rather we didn't hold.

2.4 Children

The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

process, fulfil and deliver your orders, and issue receipts and invoices;
deliver digital downloads and manage download access;
communicate with you about your order, including dispatch and delivery updates;
respond to your enquiries, returns and complaints;
send you marketing emails, where you have consented (see section 6);
send abandoned cart reminders if you entered your email at checkout but didn't complete your purchase;
show you retargeted advertising on third-party platforms based on your activity on our Site (see section 5);
understand how the Site is used, and improve our products, pricing and content;
detect and prevent fraud, chargebacks and misuse; and
comply with our legal obligations, including tax and consumer law record-keeping.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Who we share your information with

We disclose personal information to the following categories of third parties, only as needed:

Website and e-commerce platform

Payment processors - Site and order data, account details
Shipping and fulfilment - Payment and billing details, transaction data
Email marketing platform - Name, address, phone, email, parcel contents
Analytics providers - Email, name, purchase history, engagement data
Advertising platforms - Usage and device data, pseudonymous identifiers
Professional advisers - Only as needed, under confidentiality
Government and regulators - Only where required or authorised by law

We require these providers to protect your information and to use it only for the purposes we engage them for. We remain responsible for our choice of provider.

5. Cookies and tracking

5.1 What we use

Essential cookies - keep you logged in, remember your cart, and process checkout. The Site won't work properly without these.
Analytics cookies - tell us how many people visit, which pages they read, and where they drop off. We use this in aggregate.
Advertising and retargeting pixels - these let us show you our products on other platforms after you've visited us, and let us measure whether our ads work.

5.2 Your choices

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies will break checkout.

We do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

6. Marketing communications

We will only send you marketing emails where you have opted in — for example, by ticking a subscribe box, entering a giveaway, or checking the marketing consent box at checkout. Consent is never bundled into your purchase: you can buy from us without joining our list.

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we action unsubscribes within 5 business days as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). You can also email us at support@cadenceskin.com to opt out.

Transactional messages are separate. Order confirmations, dispatch notifications, download links, and responses to your enquiries are not marketing, and you'll continue to receive these while your order is active even if you've unsubscribed from marketing.

7. Overseas disclosure

Several of our service providers store or process data outside Australia. Depending on the providers we use, your information may be handled in United States, Ireland, Singapore, United Kingdom, and/or European Union

Before disclosing information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the APPs, usually through contractual data protection terms. However, overseas providers may be subject to the laws of their own country, and those laws may differ from Australian privacy law.

By using the Site, you acknowledge that your information will be handled overseas on this basis.

8. How we store and protect your information

We store personal information in the systems of the providers listed in section 4. We take reasonable steps to protect it, including:

using reputable platforms with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS);
limiting access to those who need it;
using strong, unique passwords and multi-factor authentication on our accounts; and
not storing full payment card details ourselves at any point.

No system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet, and any transmission is at your own risk.

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify you and, where the Notifiable Data Breach scheme applies to us, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

9. How long we keep your information

Order and transaction records: at least 7 years, as required by Australian tax law.
Marketing list data: until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we don't re-add you.
Enquiry correspondence: 24 month after the matter is resolved.
Analytics data: as per the retention settings of the relevant provider, typically 24 months.
When we no longer need information and are not required to keep it, we delete it or de-identify it.

10. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us to:

give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
correct anything that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete; or
delete information we're not required to keep.

Email support@cadenceskin.com with your request. We'll respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first.

We will usually provide access free of charge, but may charge a reasonable fee for large or repeated requests. If we refuse access or correction, we'll tell you why in writing and explain how to complain.

11. Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your personal information or breached the APPs:

Contact us first at support@cadenceskin.com with the details. We'll acknowledge within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

12. Third-party sites

The Site may link to other websites and social media platforms. We're not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies before providing them your information.

13. If you are in the EEA or United Kingdom

Because we sell internationally, the GDPR (and UK GDPR) may apply to our handling of your information.

Analytics, retargeting, fraud prevention - Legitimate interests (and consent, where required for cookies)
Tax and legal record-keeping - Legal obligation

Your additional rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing (including to direct marketing at any time), and the right to withdraw consent without affecting prior processing.

Where we transfer your data outside the EEA or UK, we rely on our providers' Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page with the "Last updated" date at the top. Where changes are significant, we'll notify you by email or a notice on the Site.
